Tony Curtis Dead at Age 85
He began life as a Jewish boy named Bernie Schwartz, a tough kid from the Bronx, and ended up with the name Anthony Curtis, appearing on film opposite the likes of Cary Grant, Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon, Burt Lancaster, and Henry Fonda, and, incidentally, outliving them all before passing away in September, 2010 at the age of 85 of a heart attack.

The First Lady of the American Stage also made a couple dozen movie appearances, all of them wonderful, of course.

Our condolences to the families of actor Tony Curtis (see below), who recently died at 85, and director Arthur Penn, who died last week at the age of 88. We also take note of the death of charactor actor Harold Gould, who classic film fans will recognize from dozens of TV shows and movies, including The Sting, and Love and Death, who died at the age of 86. These are three more losses in what has been a very sad month for fans of great movie and television personalities.
